Mont Blanc Enduro

The "Tour du Mont Blanc" is one of the most famous long distance paths in the world. This is our version of it! We avoid much of the official route as it is simply too busy with walkers to be enjoyable, but we’ve put together what we think is an even better way to circumnavigate Europe’s Highest mountain.

We start in Chamonix and spend 6 days working our way around the whole Mont Blanc Massif back to Chamonix passing through 3 countries and numerous resorts, many villages and even more valleys on the way. We use uplifts to gain a significant proportion of our altitude each day without taking away from the sense of journey and adventure this trip has in abundance. This use of lift/van access turns the trip into a true all-mountain adventure. We still have some climbing, however, the focus of this trip is very much about enjoying descending down some of the best singletrack in the world.

This is a true mountain-bikers adventure… we pass through some of the Alp’s most stunning scenery, enjoy lunch in high alpine pastures, swap stories while sitting on mountain railways, grin while we descend many kilometres of flowing, sweet singletrack into a valley far below where we have some cold beers and a comfy bed waiting for us!

To get an idea of what kind of adventure you’re in for, take a look at the video below, produced by Steel City Media when Orbea came to ride the route with us and make a story for their Trail Tales series.

E-Bike week

After lots of requests, we ran our first E-bike version of the Mont Blanc Enduro Tour in 2023. It was a great week that worked really well and we’re keen to continue catering for the growing number of E-bikers who want to join our trips.

The trip uses the same hotels and a similar route as our popular and well-established MBE tour, modified for E-Bikes to allow rideable climbs, and even more descending than we can usually fit into the regular trip!

You’ll need to factor in driving or travelling by train to our start point in Chamonix as it is not possible to fly with an E-Bike battery currently. Although it is possible to rent bikes from one of the shops in Chamonix (this will be up to individuals to arrange personally).

All the regular trip information applies, including experience level and fitness to tackle long days in the mountains on physically demanding trails. Contact us if you want to chat about this!

We suggest an E-Bike with a 600-750Wh battery, but if you have a lightweight E-Bike with a range extender and good fitness this can work too! (We’ll be riding 45-55km per day with 800-1200m climbing to give you an idea of whether you’ll need this or not!). There won’t be an option to charge the batteries during the day, just overnight at each hotel.

Trip information

This trip ventures into some remote areas and encounters some technical, steep and committing riding. You should be a very experienced rider, used to riding natural mountainous trails with confidence. You do not need to be comfortable or capable of riding “bike park” style features like jumps or drops – these man-made features are not generally found on our trips.

A good quality Enduro style bike (that's something with 150mm + of travel ), high volume beefy tyres (2.3"+) and knee pads are required for this trip.
