Helvellyn for First Timers - A Girls' Day Out!

  • Ullswater Information Centre (map)

As our first advertised running of this guided day has sold out, and there has been a huge amount of further interest, we'll be running a second trip!

We'll tackle England's highest legally rideable mountain summit at a steady pace that lets us chatter and have a laugh on the way up, while aiming to save some energy for the way down!

The emphasis is on a relaxed group ride that gives those looking to tackle this Lakeland giant for the first time a way to do so that is unpressured and fun.

A very good level of fitness is a must, as you'll be riding, pushing and carrying your bike up a very big hill before you get the reward of the descent! You should be at least a strong intermediate rider, comfortable on red graded trail centre routes and having done some natural trail riding too.

The descent has some rocky technical sections but these are entirely walkable if you don't feel confident to ride them, and there will be no pressure to do so. We'll make sure no-one feels like they can't keep up or is going to be left behind!
