A one day course for all those baffled by bike repairs, perplexed by punctures, struggling with set-up, and crying over creaky chains! We’ll aim to demystify the dark art of bike maintenance and repair and show you some simple tips and tricks to look after your bike and keep it running sweetly, as well as basic repairs that’ll give you the confidence to never fear being stuck mid-ride again.
The day will combine a morning of practical learning indoors, followed by an afternoon out riding on the trails and looking at common trailside fixes.
The course is open to everyone and aimed at those with very little experience of bike maintenance, or those who occasionally have a go, but would like to learn easier, quicker ways to do things and to develop confidence.
The workshop will in many ways be guided by what participants would like to ask and learn, but we’ll make sure that amongst everything, the following topics are covered:
M safety-check of bike and anatomy of parts.
Basic everyday maintenance tips.
Puncture repair (including tubeless repair)
Brake pad changing
What to carry on the trail to be self-sufficient
Trailside repair tips and tricks.
Plus anything specifically requested by participants! (which doesn't require specialist tools or training!)
